Olex supports Nexans at CEPSI 2008

Olex recently joined Nexans as an exhibitor at CEPSI, a biennial conference and exhibition. CEPSI, the Conference of the Electric Power Supply Industry for Asia and the Pacific, is organised by the association for Electricity Supply Authorities in the region. This year’s theme was to highlight the challenges facing electricity power providers with climate change and discuss the strategies required to meet energy demands while minimising the impact to the environment.
The conference is one of the premier events in Asia and is instrumental in the development of the electricity industry in the region. Olex has been a very consistent supporter of CEPSI for more than twenty years, and so is very well known throughout the region. With the exception of only one year, Olex have always participated in the exhibition and have presented papers at previous events, which have been held in most of the countries in the region.
This year’s conference in Macau on October 27-31, 2008, was the first time that Nexans had participated in the exhibition and conference. The exhibition therefore provided an opportunity to meet with members of the industry within the Asia Pacific region, introduce Olex as part of Nexans and promote our cables, accessories and turnkey cable solutions for energy networks. On display were a number of demonstration cables in addition to offers from Olex, Nexans and Euromold.
Ken Barber and Johnson Tan from Olex, and Frank Claeys from Nexans Switzerland also presented 4 papers during the conference. Ken Barber also chaired one of the sessions on Transmission technology.
