Olex provides cable for the Cairns Domestic Terminal redevelopment project.

Olex are providing over $700,000 worth of cable for the redevelopment of Cairns Domestic Terminal into a State-of-the-art gateway to the region.

Cairns Airport is Australia’s largest regional airport and caters to over 3 million local, interstate and international visitors annually.

Cairns Ports have invested $200 million for the provision of a new and enhanced airport. The project will provide the airport with:

  • Exceptional security and state-of-the-art passenger handling technology
  • Convenient self-service check-in terminals and consolidated check-in areas for all airlines
  • Greater variety of retail outlets for passengers
  • Five modern aerobridges catering for new aircraft types and improved aircraft access
  • Better access to roads, carparks and pedestrian walkways
  • Sustainable development features

Construction on the project commenced in January 2008 and is expected to be competed in 2010.
