Since 1988, Olex has been successful in the sale and installation of 132kV Extra High Voltage XLPE cables. In the early 1990's, recognising the Malaysian Government’s interest in developing the capability of local industry, Olex provided technical assistance to a local cable manufacturer, Leader Cables Sdn Bhd. in the manufacture and installation of 132kV cables.
Olex continues to have an active interest in Malaysia and we have recently appointed Mr David Yap, of CABLEX TECHNOLOGY as our agent and as our Sales Engineering representative in Malaysia. David joined Olex in 1992 and was our representative in China until 2000 when he decided to return to Malaysia.
In 2002, Olex completed the installation of 275kV XLPE cable and accessories at the Panglima Power Plant in Malacca. With the increase in demand for 275kV Extra High Voltage projects by the local power companies, Olex will continue to be active in this market.
